PART ONE

Leaders are Launchers!

Watching the launch of a space shuttle brings incredible exhilaration to me—the magnitude of power, the thrill of speed, the stability of the launch pad.   I enjoy watching any type of space craft lift off from its launcher.

As leaders, we are to be launchers for others.    Leaders propel others to achieve more than they thought possible (the space shuttle just sits there without the launchpad); empower and inspire others to achieve their God-given potential (space shuttle); “lift up” others (the launch pad doesn’t use downward pressure the space shuttle, it is firing it up to new heights); and humble—others only see the outcome of their influence (nobody is watching the launch pad after the shuttle leaves the dock; the launcher has done its job well, but everyone sees the influence the launcher had on the space shuttle). 

As leaders, we have all had “launchers” in our lives to help us get to where we are today.  Be a launcher for someone else today!  Trust me, it’s worth the energy!
