What’s Next? (Continued)

“And don’t be wishing you were someplace else or with someone else.  Where you are right now is God’s place for you.  Live and obey and love and believe right there.”  [1 Corinthians 7:17 – The Message]

Ever found yourself wishing you were someplace else or with someone else?  Wishing you were married (or single)?  Wishing current circumstances were different?

I wish… If only… I can’t wait for… Why did I…

No matter how you complete the phrases, the sentiments are endless.  Are you wishing for something that “appears” so much more appealing than your present situation?

Welcome to the club!  I have been there, too!  For years, I classified myself an “expert witness” to some of the above exclamations.  I was always wishing for the next career advancement or anticipating the next relocation.

The author of Corinthians knew a thing or two about moving around, changing locations, and wondering what was next.  However, he gave us some incredible God-inspired advice:  “And don’t be wishing you were someplace else or with someone else.  Where you are right now is God’s place for you.”

Wow!  That should get our attention!  What if we took this advice literally?  God is intentional and strategic about every detail of our lives.  Nothing occurs by accident or by coincidence!  Could it be that God has precisely orchestrated this moment in your life?

What will you choose: Always looking for what’s next or living fully in the present?
