What Do You Believe In?

“God can do anything, you know - far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams!”  [Ephesians 3:20 - The Message]

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

What do you believe in?  Wow…seriously?!?  This is how we are starting 2024?

Each time the calendar rolls over to a new year, many people pause to consider what it is they believe in.  Some people believe in the government; others in themselves or their job.  Still, others rely on their doctor or financial advisor, while others believe in some sort of religion.

The beginning of a new year often prompts countless people to explore a healthier lifestyle.  For many, that includes joining a gym, purchasing a piece of fitness equipment, or committing to a regular exercise routine.

In 2017, my wife and I purchased a Peloton bike (one of the best investments ever).  Since that time, we have utilized the many fitness and strength training classes available to its members.

Recently, one of the instructors commented that people need to believe in something.  She continued by stating, “It doesn’t matter what you believe in, just believe in something.”  Unfortunately, that is the sentiment of many people today.  Just believe in something—it doesn’t matter if it is actually truth or not, so long as you believe it.

Ephesians 3:20 is my life verse.  Time and time again, God has demonstrated that He can do absolutely anything despite seemingly impossible circumstances.  I believe GOD CAN DO ANYTHING!

The last few months of 2023, I was honored to teach a course at Southern Nazarene University, my alma mater.  Never would I have imagined myself teaching a college course, yet it turned out to be one of the greatest joys of my life!  If someone would have told me that was going to happen, I would have laughed and said, “Never!”  But am I glad I agreed to do it!  Wow!  So many stories!  So many blessings!

As you begin 2024, there is no better time for a check up on your belief system.  How will this year be different than previous years?
